One-sentence impressions of songs from music nerds. Most recent nerdlets:
"Ambulance Blues" is more than just 'pissing in the wind' (love singing that!). The 'liar' in the song is Richard Nixon.
"Motion Pictures" is about the ending of Neil's relationship with his second wife.
"Revolution Blues" is a track that creeped out David Crosby . . .& he played on it!
"See The Sky About To Rain" is is a song Neil had on him from the late sixties.
"Walk On" is a great 'FU' to all the critics who claimed he was done.
"My God" is Orchestrated ballad about Alice's faith in God which became more public later.
"I Never Wrote Those Songs" is Ballad with piano and sax, very sophisticated track, one of my favs from this album.
"(No More) Love At Your Convenience" is Alice's 2nd foray into disco, Alice's least favorite track he ever recorded, danceable.
"Ubangi Stomp" is Great rockabilly cover performed very faithful to the original, unusual Alice track.
